Lincoln, Nebraska — Police have taken two suspects into custody in the mysterious disappearance of a pregnant woman and her husband after their vehicle was found burning more than two weeks ago. The investigation has shifted from a missing-persons case to a homicide probe after authorities gathered evidence suggesting the couple were killed.

Suspects Identified and Arrested

Law enforcement arrested 24-year-old Sterling James and his 22-year-old wife, Sayde Titus, on suspicion of involvement in the deaths of 26-year-old Hannah Neville and 27-year-old Roberto Tanner. Police allege James, Tanner’s half-brother, confessed to fatally shooting the couple between January 15 and 16. Titus is accused of aiding and abetting after the alleged crime occurred.

James has been formally charged with two counts of first-degree murder, while Titus faces two counts of aiding and abetting first-degree murder. Neither suspect’s plea status or legal representation has been disclosed.

Timeline of Disappearance and Evidence

Neville, who was about seven months pregnant when she vanished, was last seen on January 15 as she traveled to Lincoln to meet her husband. When she failed to return, her roommate reported her missing. The next day, authorities discovered Neville’s car ablaze in Lincoln, and her cellphone had gone offline.

Cellphone data and witness accounts placed the couple at the apartment of James and Titus on the evening of January 15. Investigators believe Neville and Tanner were killed shortly afterward, and the couple’s bodies were buried at an undisclosed location. Law enforcement continues to search for the remains.
