Yung Filly Found Guilty on Two Assault Counts After Australian Trial

British entertainer and internet personality Yung Filly, whose real name is Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, has been convicted on two assault charges by a jury in Western Australia following a high-profile court case linked to an incident that took place after a performance in Perth in 2024.

The 30-year-old appeared emotional in court as the verdict was announced. While the jury found him guilty of two assault-related offenses involving injuries to a woman, he was found not guilty of several more serious charges, including multiple counts of sexual penetration without consent, assault occasioning bodily harm, and choking.

Jury Unable to Reach Verdict on Three Remaining Charges

Although the trial concluded with convictions on two assault counts, the jury could not reach a unanimous decision on three additional sexual assault charges. Prosecutors are now expected to decide whether those unresolved allegations will proceed to a new trial.

The case centered on an encounter between Barrientos and a 20-year-old woman following a nightclub performance in Perth in September 2024. During the trial, prosecutors argued that the interaction became violent after initially consensual activity. Evidence presented to jurors included photographs showing injuries such as bruises and bite marks. The defense maintained that the encounter was consensual and denied the criminal allegations.

Sentencing Hearing Scheduled Next Month

Barrientos remains on bail following the verdict and is expected to return to court on August 21, when the court will address sentencing for the assault convictions and hear updates regarding the unresolved charges. Prosecutors are still considering whether to seek another trial on the counts where the jury failed to reach a verdict.

The case has attracted widespread public attention due to Yung Filly’s popularity as a content creator, musician, and television personality with millions of followers across social media platforms. The court’s latest decision marks a significant development in the long-running legal proceedings.
