D4vd’s Daily Jail Routine Revealed as Murder Case Moves Toward Trial
New information has shed light on the highly controlled daily routine of singer D4vd, whose legal name is David Anthony Burke, as he remains in custody at the Los Angeles County Twin Towers Correctional Facility while awaiting trial.
Burke has been behind bars since his arrest on April 16, 2026, in connection with the alleged murder of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez. Prosecutors have charged him with first-degree murder, continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14, and unlawful mutilation of human remains. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
A Los Angeles judge recently ruled that prosecutors presented enough evidence during a five-day preliminary hearing for the case to proceed to trial.
Strict Isolation and Constant Monitoring
According to details about Burke’s detention, he is housed in a single cell within a specialized housing unit where inmates remain separated from others for safety and security reasons.
His movements throughout the facility are tightly controlled. Whenever he leaves his cell, sheriff’s personnel escort him while wearing body cameras, and surveillance systems monitor him continuously. Welfare checks are reportedly conducted approximately every 15 minutes.
Officials say Burke has not received any disciplinary violations since entering custody. He reportedly eats all three daily meals alone and has not received any visitors during his time in jail.
Early Morning Court Routine
During the recent preliminary hearing, Burke followed a strict daily schedule before appearing in court.
His day reportedly began around 4 a.m., allowing time to shower, change into a county-issued orange jail uniform, eat breakfast, and prepare for transportation. He was then transported under security to the courthouse before proceedings began later in the morning.
Before one of his court appearances, Burke also received a haircut performed by a jail medical staff member.
Authorities described him as cooperative throughout the hearing, arriving on time each day without incident.
Serious Charges Remain at Center of Case
During the preliminary hearing, prosecutors outlined allegations that Burke arranged transportation for the teenage victim to his residence before fatally stabbing her. They further alleged that he attempted to conceal the crime by dismembering the victim’s remains and hiding them inside his vehicle.
Investigators also presented forensic evidence, including DNA findings, digital communications, and witness testimony, which prosecutors say support their case. Defense attorneys challenged portions of the evidence and cross-examined witnesses throughout the hearing.
Following the conclusion of the proceedings, the judge determined there was sufficient evidence for the criminal case to move forward.
Burke is scheduled to return to court for arraignment on August 31, where additional pretrial proceedings are expected to continue before the case heads toward trial.
