A Las Vegas man is facing multiple murder charges after authorities say he allegedly shot and killed his girlfriend and her two children inside an apartment earlier this month.

Juan Carlos Orona, 29, turned himself in to police on Sept. 1, telling authorities that he had shot his girlfriend and her children. Police later found three victims suffering from apparent gunshot wounds at an apartment on O’Bannon Drive. All three were pronounced dead at the scene.

The victims were identified as 41-year-old Nohani Flores Osuna, her 16-year-old daughter Maiya Deleon Flores and her 7-year-old son Noah Morales Flores.

Police Say Suspect Claimed He “Blacked Out” During Shooting

According to the arrest report, Orona had been dating Osuna for approximately three to six months. Investigators say the couple had a confrontation after Orona questioned her about an alleged relationship with a former boyfriend.

Orona reportedly told detectives that Osuna acknowledged being unfaithful. He then claimed he experienced a “blackout” and could not remember the details of what followed.

Authorities say Orona did not deny firing the weapon. He reportedly told investigators that he later regained awareness while holding a handgun, with Osuna and her children on the floor.

Police also recovered a handgun from a backpack inside Orona’s pickup truck during their investigation.

Suspect Turned Himself In After Triple Shooting

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said Orona contacted authorities at approximately 7:10 p.m. on Sept. 1 and said he wanted to surrender.

His father reportedly told investigators that Orona contacted him earlier that evening and said he had hurt his girlfriend and her children. His father then encouraged him to turn himself in, according to the arrest report.

Orona was also suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen when he surrendered. He was taken to a hospital for treatment, and authorities described the injury as non-life-threatening. Police have not publicly established how he sustained the wound.

Orona was subsequently booked into the Clark County Detention Center. He faces three counts of open murder with a deadly weapon and 10 counts of discharging a firearm into an occupied structure. He remains in custody as the case proceeds through court.
