Gun Discovered After Student Alert
The incident occurred on April 2 at Longcoy Elementary School in Kent, Ohio, after a student reported seeing a gun tucked into a classmate’s waistband during recess. School staff immediately responded, locating the weapon inside the child’s backpack and securing it safely before contacting authorities.
Police later confirmed the firearm was a loaded 9mm handgun. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and all students and staff remained safe due to the prompt response.
