Shocking Unprovoked Attack at Bronx Subway Station
A peaceful New Year’s morning turned alarming when a 72-year-old man was pushed into a moving New York City subway train at the 161st Street – Yankee Stadium station in the Bronx. The incident, occurring around 3:30 a.m., was sudden and unexpected, prompting a rapid law enforcement response.
According to authorities, the victim was waiting for a Manhattan-bound No. 4 train when another rider allegedly shoved him directly into the train’s path. The elderly commuter suffered head injuries and was rushed to a local hospital in stable condition following the terrifying assault.
Suspect Apprehended; Charges Filed
Police quickly took 29-year-old Brooklyn resident Anton Aleshin into custody at the scene. Officials have charged him with attempted murder, assault, and reckless endangerment as the investigation continues.
