Tragedy Unfolds the Day After Christmas
An 18-year-old man has been apprehended following a deadly shooting that claimed his mother’s life and left his father wounded outside their family residence in Pennsylvania on December 26, the day after Christmas. The teen allegedly opened fire while his younger brothers and sisters were inside the house, triggering a multi-state law enforcement response.
Authorities say the shooting occurred outside the home in Freeport Township, near the West Virginia border. First responders found the mother suffering from critical gunshot wounds and transported her to a nearby hospital, where she later died. The father was also shot but recovered enough to be released in stable condition.
