A disturbing incident near Stanford University has triggered a police investigation after a woman reported being sexually assaulted while jogging. The attack, which occurred on Sunday evening, has raised safety concerns in the surrounding community as authorities continue their search for the suspect.


Attack Reported During Evening Jog

According to officials, the woman was out for a run around 6:15 p.m. near a residential area close to the campus when a man approached her. He allegedly grabbed the victim and forced her into a nearby landscaped area before carrying out the assault.

The victim later reported the incident to campus police a couple of hours after it happened. Authorities have not released details about her identity, condition, or whether she has any connection to the university.


Suspect Described as Armed and Dangerous

Investigators say the attacker was carrying a firearm during the incident, reportedly a semi-automatic handgun tucked into his waistband.

The suspect has been described as a darker-skinned man with brown eyes and short hair. At the time of the incident, he was reportedly wearing a light blue hoodie, dark jeans, and a thick braided bracelet.

Police have not made any arrests so far and are urging the public to come forward with any information that could assist in identifying the individual.


Increased Security and Ongoing Investigation

Following the incident, campus authorities issued a safety alert and increased security presence in the area. Officials emphasized that the investigation is ongoing and encouraged residents and students to remain vigilant.

Law enforcement agencies continue to review evidence and track leads as they work to locate the suspect and ensure community safety.
