Pregnant Woman Injured in Domestic Violence Shooting
A 38-year-old pregnant woman was hospitalized after being shot during a violent argument at an apartment complex in Riverdale, Georgia. Authorities said the incident happened on June 20 when a dispute between the woman and her boyfriend escalated.
Investigators allege that the suspect, identified as Jerrell Clark, retrieved a firearm and opened fire, striking the woman in the neck and shoulder. Despite her injuries, doctors reported that she is in stable condition and there are currently no signs of distress involving her unborn child.
Teen Son Tried to Protect His Mother
According to investigators, the victim’s teenage son witnessed the attack and attempted to defend his mother by firing back at the suspect. Clark fled the scene before officers arrived and has not yet been located.
Residents in the area expressed shock over the incident as police intensified their search efforts.
Suspect Considered Armed and Dangerous
Law enforcement officials have warned the public not to approach Clark if spotted. Authorities described him as armed and dangerous and urged anyone with information regarding his whereabouts to contact police immediately.
Investigators are pursuing multiple charges, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, battery against a pregnant woman, reckless conduct, and cruelty to children.
