Qatar Condemns Israeli Strike on Iran-Linked Gas Facilities
Qatar has strongly criticized the reported Israeli targeting of natural gas facilities connected to Iran’s massive South Pars gas field, describing the attack as a dangerous escalation in an already tense Middle East conflict.
In an official statement, Qatar’s Foreign Ministry said that striking infrastructure associated with the South Pars field was a “dangerous and irresponsible” action during a period of heightened military tensions in the region. Officials warned that such attacks could have serious consequences for both regional stability and global energy markets.
The South Pars field—shared between Iran and Qatar—is the largest natural gas reservoir in the world and plays a critical role in global energy supply.
Warning Over Global Energy Security
Qatar emphasized that targeting energy infrastructure poses a major risk not only to the countries involved but also to global energy security. The gas field’s infrastructure supports significant production and supply chains that impact markets far beyond the Gulf region.
