Harrowing Domestic Violence Incident in Broward County
A 37-year-old Florida man was arrested early this week after law enforcement says he stabbed his pregnant wife to death inside their Oakland Park apartment, with their children inside the residence at the time of the alleged attack. Deputies from the Broward Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic disturbance at about 1:00 a.m. Tuesday and discovered the victim suffering from multiple stab wounds. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Suspect Located With Apparent Injuries, Taken Into Custody
When deputies entered the home, they found the alleged attacker with what appeared to be self-inflicted wounds. During efforts to render aid, officers struggled briefly with the suspect before placing him under arrest. He was then transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Authorities have since charged him with second-degree murder.
Investigators later confirmed that the victim was expecting a child and that the couple shared the home with three children who were present during the incident. It was also reported that the woman had obtained a restraining order against her husband prior to the fatal encounter.
