A routine boarding process turned chaotic at Miami International Airport when three women were arrested after allegedly refusing to pay an additional baggage fee and forcing their way onto a flight. The incident caused a major disruption, delayed the flight, and drew widespread attention after videos surfaced online.
Dispute Over Carry-On Luggage Escalates
According to authorities, the situation began when airline staff informed the trio that their tickets included only one carry-on bag, but they were carrying two. They were asked to step aside and pay the extra fee, but the conversation quickly turned into a heated argument.
Despite multiple warnings, the women allegedly ignored instructions and proceeded toward the aircraft. Reports indicate they entered through a restricted access point meant only for authorized personnel, bypassing normal boarding procedures.
Forced Removal and Arrest on Aircraft
Once onboard, the situation intensified. Officials stated that the women refused to leave the plane even after their boarding privileges were revoked. Law enforcement officers were called to handle the disruption.
Passengers were asked to deplane temporarily as deputies worked to remove the trio. Authorities reported a brief physical struggle when the women resisted being taken into custody. One of them allegedly spat on an airline employee during the incident, adding to the charges.
Charges Filed and Flight Delayed
The three individuals were taken into custody and transported to a local correctional facility. They now face charges including trespassing and resisting arrest, while one suspect also faces an additional battery charge.
The disruption caused the flight to be delayed for over an hour. Meanwhile, videos captured by passengers quickly spread across social media, showing the women being escorted off the aircraft in handcuffs.
