Braden Peters, the social media personality better known online as Clavicular, has been charged in Massachusetts in connection with the alleged rape of a 17-year-old girl. The 20-year-old influencer, who became widely known through the online “looksmaxxing” community, faces one count of rape, a felony charge involving drugging someone for sexual intercourse, and a misdemeanor charge related to providing alcohol to someone under 21.
The charges were filed Sept. 8, 2026, over an alleged incident that prosecutors say occurred on May 23, 2025, at Peters’ family home in Chatham on Cape Cod. Peters is not currently in custody and is scheduled to appear for an arraignment on Oct. 14 in Orleans District Court.
Alleged Incident at Cape Cod Home
According to the criminal complaint and police account, the teenage girl first connected with Peters through Instagram. She told investigators that Peters offered to pay her to appear in livestreamed videos related to looksmaxxing.
The girl reportedly traveled by rideshare to Peters’ family property on Cape Cod on May 23, 2025. She said Peters knew she was 17 but allegedly instructed her to tell viewers during a livestream that she was 18. She also told police that she was encouraged to describe vodka she was drinking as water.
The alleged victim told investigators that she became heavily intoxicated after consuming alcohol. Police reviewing portions of the livestream reportedly observed her telling Peters that she was very drunk.
She later alleged that she fell asleep and subsequently woke up to Peters having sex with her without her consent. The allegations form the basis of the Massachusetts criminal case.
Peters Faces Multiple Criminal Charges
The Massachusetts case includes three charges: rape, administering a substance for sexual intercourse and procuring liquor for a person under 21. The rape and drugging allegations are felonies, while the alcohol-related offense is a misdemeanor.
A clerk-magistrate found probable cause for the charges on Sept. 4, followed by the issuance of the criminal complaint and summons four days later. Peters is scheduled to be arraigned on Oct. 14.
Peters has denied the allegations. A representative for the influencer has disputed the accusations and said Peters had not been physically served with the criminal charges. The representative also characterized the allegations as connected to a separate civil dispute.
Civil Lawsuit and Previous Legal Troubles
The Massachusetts allegations overlap with claims made earlier this year in a civil lawsuit filed in Florida. The lawsuit accused Peters of sexual misconduct as well as other alleged actions involving the same Cape Cod visit. However, the Massachusetts charging documents do not publicly identify the alleged victim, and authorities have not independently stated in the records that the criminal case and civil lawsuit involve the same person.
Peters has also faced other legal issues in 2026. In Florida, he pleaded no contest in connection with an incident involving the apparent shooting of an alligator and received six months of probation and community service. He was also arrested in March in an unrelated battery investigation, according to CBS News.
The Massachusetts rape case remains pending, and the allegations against Peters have not been proven in court.
