Authorities Continue Investigation Into Idaho In-N-Out Shooting

Law enforcement officials are still working to determine what drove a gunman to open fire at a newly opened In-N-Out Burger restaurant in Twin Falls, Idaho, in a tragic mass shooting that claimed three lives and injured seven others.

The shooting took place on Saturday afternoon at the busy restaurant, sending customers and employees scrambling for safety. Police later confirmed that the suspect, identified as 24-year-old Chad Williams, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after the attack. Investigators have stated that he acted alone and that no clear motive has yet been established.

Victims Remembered as Community Mourns

Among those killed was Ashley Garibay, a 23-year-old In-N-Out employee from California who had traveled to Twin Falls to help train staff at the recently opened restaurant. Another victim was Christopher Claunch, while a third victim also lost their life during the shooting.

Seven additional people suffered injuries. Authorities said two victims remain in critical condition, including Austin “A.J.” Scott, a former law enforcement officer who attempted to intervene during the attack. Others injured have either been treated and released or remain hospitalized in stable condition.

Community members have organized vigils to honor the victims, while In-N-Out Burger expressed condolences to the families, employees, and everyone affected by the tragedy.

Armed Bystanders Helped Limit Further Casualties

Investigators said an off-duty police officer and an armed civilian confronted the gunman during the attack, actions that authorities believe prevented even greater loss of life.

Police continue to examine the suspect’s background, digital records, and personal history as part of the ongoing investigation. Officials said Williams had no known criminal record and are interviewing relatives and acquaintances in an effort to understand what led to the shooting.

Authorities emphasized that there is no indication anyone else was involved, and they continue to ask witnesses to provide any information that could assist the investigation.
