Gunfire at Family Party in Stockton Leaves 4 Dead, Several Wounded Stockton shooter

Heartbreaking Celebration Turns Deadly

On Saturday evening, what was meant to be a joyful family gathering at a banquet hall in Stockton, California ended in tragedy. Around 6 p.m. local time, gunfire erupted at the hall on the 1900 block of Lucile Avenue during a child’s birthday party — killing four people and wounding many others.

The victims — both children and adults — were rushed to nearby hospitals. Officials confirmed that a total of 14 people were struck by gunfire, though the number of confirmed wounded has varied between 10 and 14 in early reports.

At present, no arrests have been made. The suspected shooter remains at large, prompting an urgent call for public assistance in tracking down those responsible.

What Officials Are Saying

Representatives of the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office described the incident as a “targeted attack,” though the motive remains unclear.

Heather Brent — speaking on behalf of the Sheriff’s Office — confirmed the time and location of the shooting and acknowledged that details remain limited.

Meanwhile, local officials appealed for calm and cooperation: those with information or video evidence are being urged to come forward, and the public has been asked to remain vigilant until the perpetrator is found.

Community Shock, And Demand For Answers

The shooting has rattled the community, especially because it occurred during a child’s birthday celebration — a moment meant for happiness and family. Officials say spaces like banquet halls and neighbourhood gatherings should not become sites of violence.

With no suspect in custody and the motive still unclear, law enforcement continues to investigate while the city reels from grief and outrage. As the probe unfolds, the focus remains on ensuring justice for the victims and restoring a sense of safety and trust among residents.
