Wisconsin Stalking Suspect Faces Felony Charge After Police Search
A 47-year-old Wisconsin man has been charged with felony stalking after authorities accused him of harassing and obsessively pursuing a former girlfriend for more than a decade.
According to a criminal complaint, the woman briefly dated Benjamin Larson in 2013 before ending the relationship. She allegedly became concerned after Larson contacted her during an incident in which he was reportedly holding a gun to his head.
The relationship ended, but authorities say the alleged harassment continued for years.
The woman later moved to Canada, yet investigators said Larson allegedly continued attempting to contact her. Over time, she reportedly received letters, cards and other communications.
Authorities also alleged that Larson filed complaints against the woman with professional therapy licensing boards in several states.
Police Allegedly Find Mummy and Other Disturbing Items in Basement
After the woman contacted law enforcement, investigators obtained a search warrant for Larson’s home in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.
According to the criminal complaint, officers allegedly discovered numerous unusual and disturbing items inside the residence.
The basement reportedly contained a full-size mummy, skeletal remains, human skulls and bones. Investigators also allegedly found materials connected to notorious criminals, including binders related to Ed Gein.
One of the most unusual discoveries was a jar bearing a label claiming that it contained a piece of convicted serial killer John Wayne Gacy’s brain.
Authorities have described the item as a purported piece of Gacy’s brain.
Police also reportedly found ammunition, containers labeled with names of dangerous substances and other crime-related materials during the search.
Investigators Reportedly Discover Detailed Material About Alleged Victim
Authorities said investigators also found a collection of documents and writings related to the woman who reported the alleged stalking.
According to the complaint, Larson had allegedly created a detailed portfolio concerning her and expressed obsessive thoughts about her personal life.
Investigators also reportedly found materials that allegedly described surveillance of the woman’s home and vehicle.
The complaint alleges that Larson documented behavior that authorities considered potentially threatening and obsessive.
Court Case Moves Forward
Larson has been charged with felony stalking in connection with the allegations.
Court records indicate that he posted a $15,000 bond. He is scheduled to return to court for an arraignment on September 11.
The case remains pending, and the allegations contained in the criminal complaint have yet to be proven in court.
