Father and Daughter Hurt During Shooting Outside Florida McDonald’s
A family’s routine stop for lunch turned into a terrifying ordeal after a father and his 11-year-old daughter were struck by gunfire outside a McDonald’s in Hallandale Beach, Florida.
Authorities said the victims were sitting inside their SUV in the restaurant’s parking lot while the girl’s mother went inside to collect their order. Moments later, shots were fired during what investigators believe was a targeted confrontation involving other individuals. The father and daughter, who had no connection to the dispute, were caught in the crossfire.
Both victims were transported to a nearby hospital and were reported to be in stable condition.
Police Believe Incident Was Targeted
According to investigators, the shooting stemmed from a conflict between multiple people and does not appear to have been a random attack. Officials said there is currently no ongoing threat to the public.
Police are working to identify and locate everyone involved in the incident. Early findings suggest one of the individuals connected to the shooting may have been employed at the McDonald’s location.
Witnesses reported hearing several gunshots before the suspects fled the scene. Detectives are reviewing surveillance footage and gathering evidence as part of the ongoing investigation.
Restaurant Cooperating With Investigation
The restaurant’s operator expressed concern for the injured family and confirmed full cooperation with law enforcement. Company representatives said surveillance footage and other information have been provided to assist investigators.
The employee believed to be connected to the incident is no longer working at the restaurant, according to management.
Authorities are encouraging anyone who witnessed the shooting or has video footage to contact investigators as they continue searching for additional suspects.
