Los Angeles, July 2, 2026
Law enforcement officials in Los Angeles have arrested 10 individuals accused of participating in a large-scale sex trafficking operation that allegedly exploited approximately 51 underage girls and women over several years.
According to prosecutors, the investigation focused on criminal activity along the city’s well-known Figueroa Corridor, where authorities say gang members and associates recruited vulnerable victims, including runaways and children from the foster care system. Investigators allege the victims were lured with false promises before being forced into commercial sex through intimidation, threats, and violence.
If convicted, the defendants could face prison sentences ranging from 15 years to life.
Investigation Uncovers Years of Alleged Exploitation
Officials say the alleged trafficking operation was active from February 2021 through June 2026. Investigators claim the suspects used manipulation, coercion, and physical abuse to maintain control over victims while profiting from illegal activities.
Court documents describe several disturbing allegations, including one suspect who allegedly assaulted a victim and attempted to pressure her into misleading police about her injuries. Another defendant is accused of arranging medical care for an underage victim before allegedly forcing her to return to sex work the same day.
Authorities said the investigation highlights the continued dangers faced by vulnerable young people targeted by organized criminal groups.
Hotel Manager Among Those Facing Charges
Among those arrested is the manager of a local motel, who prosecutors allege knowingly benefited from the trafficking operation by providing rooms used for illegal activities. Investigators claim the suspect received tens of thousands of dollars connected to the criminal enterprise.
Law enforcement officials also reported recovering a significant amount of cash believed to be linked to the operation during coordinated searches.
Authorities Pledge Continued Action
Federal and local officials described the arrests as part of a broader effort to dismantle human trafficking networks operating in South Los Angeles.
Police leaders said protecting victims, rescuing those being exploited, and holding traffickers accountable remain top priorities. The Figueroa Corridor has long been identified as an area with persistent human trafficking concerns, and authorities indicated that additional investigations are ongoing.
Officials encouraged anyone with information about suspected human trafficking to report it to law enforcement, emphasizing that community cooperation plays a critical role in identifying victims and disrupting criminal organizations.
