Authorities in Virginia are searching for a woman accused of fatally shooting two coworkers in an incident investigators describe as related to domestic violence.
The shootings happened on July 24 at a Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) yard in Chesterfield County, where employees Rai’Shon Eugene Delarge, 30, and Philip Avery Wilson, 34, were found with gunshot wounds. Investigators have identified 37-year-old Dennekia Rachelle Boyce as the suspect.
Two VDOT Employees Killed in Shooting
Virginia State Police responded to the VDOT facility after receiving a report of a shooting. When officers arrived, Delarge was found dead at the scene.
Wilson was also suffering from gunshot wounds and was transported to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Officials say Boyce knew at least one of the two men. Investigators believe the shooting was connected to a domestic violence situation and allege that Boyce left the location after the incident.
Both Delarge and Wilson were employees of the Virginia Department of Transportation.
Their deaths have prompted an outpouring of grief from relatives and friends. Delarge was remembered by his family as a devoted son, father, brother, uncle and grandson. He was also known for his love of football and music, including writing and performing songs.
Wilson’s family described him as a kind and dependable person. A fundraising campaign established for his family said his sudden death had left relatives devastated.
$10,000 Reward Offered for Information
Boyce is wanted on two counts of second-degree murder, according to authorities.
Officials are offering a $10,000 reward for information that directly leads to her capture.
Authorities describe Boyce as a Black woman with black hair and brown eyes. She is approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs around 160 pounds.
