Two former fifth-grade teachers from the same elementary school in Hudson, Wisconsin, have faced criminal convictions and guilty pleas in separate cases involving minors.
Abigail Faust, 25, and Madison Bergmann, 26, both previously taught at River Crest Elementary School. Bergmann was sentenced to six years in prison in December 2025 after pleading guilty to charges involving an 11-year-old student. Faust has since pleaded guilty in Wisconsin to charges involving two 15-year-old boys and is awaiting sentencing.
Abigail Faust Pleads Guilty in Cases Involving Two Teenagers
Faust pleaded guilty on Sept. 14 in St. Croix County Court to child enticement-sexual conduct and second-degree sexual assault of a child under 16.
According to the allegations presented in court, Faust sexually assaulted a 15-year-old boy while working as a nanny for his family. She later sexually assaulted the teenager’s 15-year-old friend.
Faust was arrested and charged in September 2025 in connection with the allegations involving the two teenagers.
During her court appearance, Faust acknowledged responsibility for her conduct and said she was receiving therapy to understand the decisions that led to the offenses.
She also previously faced allegations involving a fifth-grade student at River Crest Elementary. Authorities alleged that in 2024 she kept the student after class, pushed him against a wall and kissed him on the cheek.
Faust resigned from the school in May 2025 after the allegations came to light.
Madison Bergmann Previously Sentenced to Six Years in Prison
Bergmann, another former fifth-grade teacher at River Crest Elementary, was also accused of having an inappropriate relationship with one of her students.
Authorities said Bergmann exchanged thousands of text messages with an 11-year-old student. The communications reportedly included messages referring to romantic and physical contact.
She pleaded guilty to one count of child enticement and two counts of sexual misconduct. In December 2025, a judge sentenced her to six years in prison.
Court allegations also indicated that Faust and Bergmann communicated with each other about their respective relationships with students. Faust was accused of being aware of Bergmann’s relationship with the 11-year-old but failing to report it.
Faust Faces Sentencing in Two States
Faust’s Wisconsin plea agreement resulted in prosecutors agreeing to dismiss several other charges, including allegations connected to the fifth-grade student.
She also faced criminal charges in Washington County, Minnesota, related to the 15-year-old boy. Earlier in September, she pleaded guilty there to third-degree criminal sexual conduct.
Faust is scheduled to be sentenced in both Minnesota and Wisconsin in December. Under the Minnesota plea agreement, prosecutors are seeking a stayed three-year prison sentence, 10 years of probation and one year in jail, with the sentence running concurrently with her Wisconsin sentence.
The cases involving the two former teachers have drawn attention because both educators worked at the same elementary school and prosecutors alleged that they communicated about their interactions with students.
