Authorities are searching for a Virginia woman accused of killing two coworkers in a shooting that investigators describe as related to domestic violence.
The incident occurred on July 24 at a Virginia Department of Transportation yard in Chesterfield County, where 30-year-old Rai’Shon Eugene Delarge and 34-year-old Philip Avery Wilson were shot. Delarge died at the scene, while Wilson later died from his injuries at a hospital.
Investigators have identified 37-year-old Dennekia Rachelle Boyce as the suspect and say she left the area following the shooting.
Two VDOT Employees Killed in July Shooting
Virginia State Police responded to reports of gunfire at a VDOT facility on July 24. When officers arrived, they found Delarge dead and Wilson suffering from gunshot wounds.
Wilson was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Authorities say Boyce knew at least one of the victims. Investigators believe the shooting was connected to a domestic violence situation, though additional details surrounding the relationship and events leading up to the incident have not been released.
Both Delarge and Wilson were employed by the Virginia Department of Transportation.
Suspect Facing Two Murder Charges
According to authorities, Boyce is wanted on two counts of second-degree murder. Investigators believe she fled after the shooting and have been working with state and federal agencies to locate her.
Boyce is described by authorities as a Black woman with black hair and brown eyes. She is approximately 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighs around 160 pounds.
A $10,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to her arrest.
Families Remember the Victims
The two men have been remembered by their families and loved ones following the tragedy.
Delarge’s family described him as a devoted son, father, brother, uncle and grandson. He was also known for his passion for football and music, including writing and performing.
Wilson’s family has also received support following his death. A fundraiser established for his family described him as a kind and dependable person whose sudden death left his loved ones devastated.
Authorities are asking anyone with information about Boyce’s whereabouts to come forward.
