US authorities have arrested and charged an Iraqi man accused of coordinating a series of terror-related attacks and planned operations across the United States and Europe. Officials say the suspect allegedly worked with an Iran-backed militia group and targeted Jewish institutions, financial centers, and public locations.

The suspect, identified as Mohammad Baqer Saad Dawood al-Saadi, appeared in federal court in New York after being transferred to US custody from overseas. Prosecutors claim he played a central role in organizing or supporting multiple violent incidents in several countries.

Alleged Links to Iran-Backed Militia Groups

According to investigators, al-Saadi is believed to be associated with Kata’ib Hezbollah, an Iraqi paramilitary organization supported by Iran. US officials also allege he maintained close ties with members of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

Federal prosecutors filed several terrorism-related charges against the 32-year-old, including conspiracy to support foreign terrorist organizations and plotting attacks on public places.

Authorities claim the accused helped direct operations targeting Jewish communities and Western interests in cities across Europe and North America. Investigators say some attacks involved arson, explosives, and violent assaults.

Planned Attacks on Jewish Sites Under Investigation

Court documents allege that the suspect was connected to attempted attacks on synagogues and Jewish centers in cities including New York, London, and other locations in Europe.

US law enforcement agencies say one alleged plot involved plans to attack a synagogue in Manhattan using explosives or firebombs. Investigators claim undercover officers were involved in uncovering the operation before any attack could take place.

Officials also linked the suspect to attacks on banks, public buildings, and diplomatic facilities in Europe and Canada. Several incidents reportedly occurred in Amsterdam, London, and Toronto.

Security Concerns Rise Amid Global Tensions

The case has increased concerns among Western security agencies about the growing threat posed by international extremist networks and proxy groups.

US officials described the suspect as a major figure connected to transnational terrorism operations. Authorities believe the alleged activities were part of a wider campaign designed to create instability and spread fear in Western countries.

The suspect remains in federal custody while the investigation continues. If convicted, he could face severe penalties, including life imprisonment.
