Russia Intensifies Air Assault Across Ukraine
Russia launched one of its largest daytime drone attacks against Ukraine, deploying more than 200 unmanned aerial vehicles in a coordinated assault targeting several regions across the country.
Ukrainian officials said air defense systems were activated for hours as explosions and warning sirens were reported in multiple cities. Authorities confirmed that many drones were intercepted, but several strikes still caused infrastructure damage and injuries.
The large-scale operation marked another escalation in the ongoing conflict, with attacks increasingly taking place during daylight hours instead of overnight missions.
Multiple Regions Hit During Coordinated Drone Strike
According to Ukrainian military officials, the drone barrage targeted energy facilities, transportation infrastructure, and civilian areas. Emergency crews responded quickly after debris from intercepted drones damaged residential buildings and public property.
Several regions, including areas near Kyiv and eastern Ukraine, reported fires and power disruptions following the strikes. Local officials urged residents to remain inside shelters while air defense operations continued.
Ukraine’s air force stated that defensive systems managed to destroy a significant number of incoming drones, preventing even greater destruction.
International Concerns Grow Over Escalating Conflict
The latest assault has renewed international concern over the increasing intensity of aerial attacks in the Russia-Ukraine war. Military analysts noted that daytime drone operations may be intended to test Ukraine’s defense readiness and create additional psychological pressure on civilians.
Global leaders continue calling for diplomatic efforts while also discussing additional military support for Ukraine’s defense systems. Meanwhile, residents across affected regions are dealing with damaged homes, interrupted utilities, and continuing security fears.
The conflict has entered another tense phase as both sides continue long-range attacks involving drones and missile systems.
