Wisconsin Husband Arrested in Missing Wife Case

Authorities in Wisconsin have arrested a 43-year-old man in connection with the disappearance of his wife, who has not been seen for more than a year. Prosecutors have charged Aaron Nelson with first-degree intentional homicide and hiding a corpse following an extensive investigation into the case of Alexis Nelson, 42.

According to investigators, Alexis was last publicly seen in March 2025 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. Although her body has not been recovered, law enforcement officials say evidence gathered during the investigation led to the criminal charges.

Aaron Nelson is currently being held at the Dodge County Jail on a $1 million cash bond. He is expected to return to court later this month.

Investigators Tracked Timeline After Woman Went Missing

Police said surveillance footage captured Aaron and Alexis Nelson together at a convenience store on March 29, 2025. Investigators later reviewed cellphone data and other evidence connected to Alexis’ disappearance.

Court records reportedly show that Alexis’ family became concerned after they had not heard from her for several months. Her mother later contacted authorities and described the couple’s relationship as troubled, alleging previous abusive behavior.

Investigators also examined messages, social media activity, and purchases allegedly made by Aaron Nelson shortly after Alexis disappeared. Authorities claim he later created a new online identity and told others his wife had died.

Blood Evidence and Search Warrant Led to Charges

During the investigation, detectives executed a search warrant at a residence connected to Nelson’s new partner. Authorities reportedly discovered a large trash container that later tested positive for Alexis Nelson’s blood.

Officials also stated that a cadaver dog alerted investigators to areas near a storage shed on the property. Prosecutors say these findings became a major part of the homicide case, despite Alexis’ remains still not being found.

Investigators further alleged that Nelson had begun a relationship with another woman shortly after his wife vanished. Court documents claim the woman was later seen wearing Alexis’ wedding ring.

Investigation Remains Ongoing

Authorities have not released additional details about the case, citing the ongoing investigation and judicial process. Law enforcement officials continue searching for answers surrounding Alexis Nelson’s disappearance.

The case has drawn widespread attention across Wisconsin due to the length of the investigation and the unusual circumstances surrounding the missing woman’s disappearance.
