Two Dead in Latest Violence in Manipur
At least two people belonging to the Kuki community were killed in separate attacks by armed men in Manipur on Thursday, according to police officials. The incident comes just a day after authorities recovered the bodies of six men from the Naga community who had reportedly been abducted several weeks ago.
The latest violence has once again raised concerns over security and ethnic tensions in the northeastern state, where clashes between communities have intensified in recent months.

Police said the conflict between Kuki and Naga groups has worsened following a series of killings and kidnappings. Earlier in May, three Kuki pastors were reportedly killed, leading to retaliatory abductions by both sides.
Most of those held captive during the clashes had been released over the past month. However, the discovery of six missing Naga men earlier this week added to the tensions and sparked fresh fears of more violence.
Longstanding Disputes Behind the Conflict
The Kuki and Naga communities have a history of disputes over territorial and ethnic claims in Manipur. The current round of tensions reportedly intensified after an incident involving an alleged assault on a Naga man earlier this year.
