A deadly shooting at a shopping center in Carrollton, Texas, has left two people dead and three others injured, according to local authorities. The violence erupted in a Koreatown commercial area north of Dallas and was later linked to a second nearby crime scene. Police say the attack was targeted and connected to a business dispute rather than a random act of violence. The suspect was arrested shortly after the shootings following a brief chase. The incident has shaken the local Korean American community and sparked a major law enforcement investigation.
Shooting Began at Busy Shopping Plaza
The first shooting happened Tuesday morning at K Towne Plaza in Carrollton, a suburb located about 20 miles north of Dallas.
Police responding to reports of gunfire found four adults suffering from gunshot wounds at the shopping center.
One man was pronounced dead at the scene, while three other victims were transported to nearby hospitals.
Authorities later discovered a second deceased male at an apartment complex located several miles away from the plaza.
Investigators determined that both crime scenes were connected and involved the same suspect.
Police identified the suspect as 69-year-old Seung Ho Han, who was later taken into custody.
Police Say Attack Stemmed From Business Dispute
Authorities stated that the shooting was not random and that the suspect personally knew the victims.
Investigators believe the violence stemmed from financial disagreements tied to business dealings.
According to police, the victims had reportedly gathered for a business-related meeting before the shooting occurred.
Officials said the suspect later admitted responsibility during questioning by detectives.
The suspect was arrested at a nearby grocery store after officers tracked his vehicle using surveillance technology.
Police confirmed the three injured victims are currently in stable condition.
Community Shocked as Investigation Continues
The shooting occurred in Carrollton’s growing Koreatown district, an area known for Korean businesses, restaurants, and markets.
Residents and community leaders expressed shock over the violence, describing the area as peaceful and family-oriented.
Federal agencies, including the FBI, joined local police at the scene to assist with the investigation.
Officers collected evidence throughout the plaza parking lot while nearby businesses remained temporarily closed.
Authorities continue reviewing surveillance footage and witness statements as the investigation moves forward.
Officials have not yet released the names of the victims pending family notifications.
