Three Girls Hurt in High-Speed Crash Into Home
Three teenage girls were taken to the hospital after the vehicle they were traveling in crashed into a family home during the early hours of Monday in Queensland, Australia.
Police said the red Hyundai hatchback, which had been reported stolen two days earlier, lost control around 1:15 a.m. before rolling multiple times and slamming into a two-story residence. The impact caused major structural damage to the property.
A 14-year-old passenger suffered serious head injuries and was rushed to Queensland Children’s Hospital. Another 14-year-old girl, believed to have been driving the car, and a 15-year-old passenger received minor injuries and were reported to be in stable condition.
Homeowner Injured While Helping Victims
A 49-year-old resident inside the home escaped serious harm but suffered cuts to his feet from shattered glass while assisting the teenagers after the crash. He did not require hospitalization.
Witnesses said the sound of the collision was extremely loud, prompting neighbors to rush outside and help the occupants. One of the girls in the back seat was reportedly unconscious when rescuers reached the vehicle.
Investigation Underway as Authorities Examine Crash
Authorities confirmed that the vehicle had been stolen from another address on Saturday. Preliminary reports suggest the car may have been traveling well above the posted speed limit before the crash occurred.
Emergency crews responded to the scene, and investigators are continuing to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the incident. No charges have been announced so far.
