Court Tightens Noose on LaBeouf in Mardi Gras Case

New developments in New Orleans have seen actor Shia LaBeouf, 39, face a newly issued arrest warrant linked to an earlier Mardi Gras assault investigation. Police allege additional accounts of simple battery stemming from confrontations in the French Quarter in mid-February, expanding the scope of his legal troubles. Authorities originally booked LaBeouf on two counts of simple battery after he allegedly struck several individuals and used homophobic language during the festive celebrations.

🏛️ Bond, Rehab and Court Conditions

Following appearances in Orleans Parish Criminal District Court, a judge set a $100,000 bond and mandated that LaBeouf immediately enter substance abuse rehabilitation and undergo weekly drug and alcohol testing as part of his release conditions. Despite negative drug test results in the courthouse, the judge expressed skepticism about the actor’s awareness of his alcohol issues and underscored concerns for community safety, particularly the LGBTQ+ community. LaBeouf has also been ordered to avoid contact with the alleged victims and refrain from returning to the bar where the incident began.

🍾 What Happened During Mardi Gras

According to police reports, just after midnight on 17 February, officers responded to a disturbance near a bar in New Orleans’ French Quarter. After staff attempted to remove him from the premises, LaBeouf allegedly became aggressive and struck multiple people. One of the victims reportedly suffered a dislocated nose, and witnesses say LaBeouf left the scene only to return and continue the confrontation. After initial processing, the actor was seen on Bourbon Street later that day before additional battery accusations surfaced leading to the new arrest warrant.
