Idaho Court Hands Down Prison Sentences in Shocking Kidnapping Case
Two Idaho men have been sentenced to prison after admitting their roles in a calculated kidnapping and assault targeting an 18-year-old man. The case stemmed from a fake motorcycle photography meetup that turned into a violent attack involving threats, physical violence, and forced messages sent from the victim’s phone.
Authorities said the incident occurred in September 2025 in Eagle, Idaho, where the teenager believed he was meeting a photographer interested in taking pictures of his motorcycle. Instead, prosecutors described the encounter as a carefully planned trap.
Fake Social Media Arrangement Led to Violent Ambush
According to court records, the victim arrived at a construction site expecting a photo session. Shortly after the meeting began, a second suspect allegedly appeared and used a stun device to incapacitate him from behind. Investigators said the attackers restrained the teen with zip ties and covered him with a bag before carrying out a prolonged assault.
Prosecutors stated that the victim was repeatedly struck, kicked, and shocked with a taser during the ordeal. During the attack, one of the men allegedly threatened him with what appeared to be a firearm and demanded that he end his romantic relationship. The suspects then gained access to his phone and sent breakup messages on his behalf.
Threats Against Family Failed to Silence Victim
Before releasing him, the attackers allegedly warned the teenager that he and his family would be harmed if he reported the crime. Despite those threats, the victim contacted law enforcement and cooperated with investigators, helping authorities build the case that ultimately resulted in convictions.
Prosecutors praised the victim’s courage, emphasizing that the attack was deliberate and designed to intimidate him into silence. Officials described the crime as a premeditated act involving deception, violence, and intimidation.
Sentences Issued for Both Defendants
The two defendants pleaded guilty to second-degree kidnapping. One defendant, 21-year-old Devin Larson, received a seven-year prison sentence with two years fixed. The second defendant, 22-year-old Steen Thomas Lamb, was sentenced to 13 years in prison with three years fixed. Both men were also granted a rider program, allowing future review of their sentences.
The sentencing closes a case that shocked the local community and highlighted the dangers of deceptive online arrangements that can lead to serious criminal acts.
