Greek Police Arrest Man in Counterterrorism Investigation
Greek authorities have detained a 37-year-old Palestinian man on the island of Crete as part of an ongoing counterterrorism investigation. Officials said the suspect is accused of planning attacks and is also being investigated for alleged ties to Hamas.
The arrest was carried out by security forces on Crete, with investigators later conducting searches at locations in both Crete and Athens. Authorities recovered mobile phones, computer equipment, external storage devices, and bank cards during the operation.
Investigators Examine Possible Explosive Materials
According to police, the suspect had reportedly ordered chemical substances that could potentially be used in the production of explosives. Authorities are also examining whether he traveled abroad for specialized training.
The man, who had been living and working in Crete for about a year, is expected to appear before judicial authorities as the investigation continues.

Officials are also looking into possible connections between the suspect and several Palestinian men who were previously arrested in Cyprus on terrorism-related allegations.
