Handwritten Epstein Note Released Years After Jail Incident

A handwritten note allegedly linked to Jeffrey Epstein has surfaced publicly years after it was reportedly discovered by his former jail cellmate inside a Manhattan detention center.

The document became public after a federal judge ordered its release during court proceedings connected to Nicholas Tartaglione, a former police officer currently serving life sentences for multiple murders.

According to court records, Tartaglione claimed he found the note hidden inside one of his books shortly after Epstein was discovered injured in their shared jail cell in July 2019. The note had remained sealed for several years as part of unrelated legal disputes.

The authenticity of the note has not been officially confirmed by investigators or the Justice Department.

Cellmate Became Key Figure in Epstein Jail Mystery

Tartaglione became widely known after Epstein initially accused him of attacking him inside the cell following the incident. Epstein was later reported to have withdrawn the accusation.

At the time, Epstein was being held while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges involving underage girls. Weeks after the first incident, he was found dead in his jail cell in August 2019. Authorities officially ruled the death a suicide.

The newly released note reportedly contains emotional and cryptic language suggesting despair and frustration over investigations and legal troubles. Some lines referenced choosing “the time to say goodbye,” though experts say the wording remains open to interpretation.

Questions Continue Around Epstein Investigation

The release of the note has renewed public attention on the circumstances surrounding Epstein’s death and the handling of evidence linked to the case.

Court documents indicate the note was not included in previous Justice Department disclosures tied to Epstein-related investigations. Federal officials also stated they had not previously reviewed the document during earlier inquiries.

Legal experts say the unsealing of the note may fuel further public debate, especially because Epstein’s death has remained the subject of ongoing speculation for years.

Meanwhile, attorneys connected to Tartaglione’s case continue disputing issues related to evidence, sealed court files, and the timeline surrounding the document’s discovery.
