An American man visiting Thailand was fatally stabbed and beaten following a heated confrontation outside a scrap yard in Bangkok while attempting to reconcile with his former partner, authorities confirmed.

Police say the 55-year-old from California was engaged in a relationship dispute that escalated into violence on February 16, leaving him dead and prompting the arrest of four suspects.

Fatal Love Dispute Erupts in Bangkok Street Fight

The incident unfolded in the Chom Thong district of Bangkok when the American tourist reportedly sought out his ex-girlfriend, who had ended the relationship and was staying with relatives. Local police say a dispute over the breakup quickly intensified.

According to investigators, the victim arrived at the location carrying a long kitchen knife, and an altercation broke out between him and a group of four men connected to the woman. During the confrontation, the American man was beaten with a metal pipe and stabbed multiple times, suffering fatal injuries.

Suspects Surrender; Case Under Investigation

Officers responding to the scene found the suspects still nearby and took them into custody without a chase. One of the men also sustained injuries in the chaotic brawl and was treated in hospital. Authorities have charged the group with joint assault resulting in death as the inquiry continues.

The foreign visitor’s body showed several stab wounds and broken limbs, according to forensic reports. Thai police and U.S. officials are cooperating as the investigation moves forward.
