Keenan Allen Arrested in Indianapolis
Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Keenan Allen was arrested early Sunday morning in Indianapolis on preliminary misdemeanor charges connected to allegedly driving while intoxicated.
According to police, officers encountered Allen after observing a vehicle parked in a no-parking area shortly after 1 a.m. Authorities said officers noticed signs of possible intoxication during their interaction with the veteran NFL player.
Allen, 34, was subsequently taken into custody following an investigation.
Preliminary Charges Include Intoxicated Driving and Endangerment
Jail records listed preliminary misdemeanor charges of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated and operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated in a manner that allegedly endangered another person.
Authorities stressed that the charges remain preliminary, with prosecutors expected to determine whether formal charges will be filed. As with all criminal allegations, Allen is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
Colts Respond as They Gather More Information
The Indianapolis Colts acknowledged the incident and said the organization was gathering additional information.
Allen recently joined the Colts and made a brief preseason appearance, recording one reception for 24 yards in the team’s game against the Detroit Lions shortly before the arrest.
