Former Business Relationship Emerges in California Kidnapping Investigation
A former real estate partnership has become a key part of a homicide investigation after a California businessman was allegedly kidnapped and killed by someone he had previously worked with.
According to investigators, 60-year-old Shukur Aikebaer, a husband and father of three, was allegedly abducted and later fatally shot in Chino Hills, California. Authorities identified the main suspect as Zhengfeng Bo, 67, who reportedly had a previous business relationship with the victim through multiple real estate ventures. Another suspect, Jianquan Bo, 66, has been arrested in connection with the case.
Ongoing Real Estate Disputes Linked to Former Partners
Public records indicate that Aikebaer and Zhengfeng Bo were involved together in at least two real estate companies. Those businesses were reportedly tied to ongoing legal disputes, including litigation involving a multi-million-dollar apartment property in Pasadena.
An attorney representing Zhengfeng Bo said he was surprised by the allegations, describing his client as someone who had never previously shown violent behavior. The lawyer also stated that the two men had not appeared to have a hostile relationship, although he acknowledged something may have changed before the incident.
Investigators have not confirmed whether the business disputes directly motivated the alleged crime.
Power Outage, Kidnapping and Police Confrontation
Authorities said the incident began after power was interrupted at Aikebaer’s home. When he went outside to inspect the electrical panel, he was allegedly shot and forced into a vehicle.
Deputies responded after receiving reports of gunfire and someone calling for help. Officers attempted to stop the suspects’ vehicle, leading to a brief pursuit before it came to a halt in Chino Hills.
Police said Jianquan Bo surrendered without resistance. However, Zhengfeng Bo allegedly ignored deputies’ commands, approached the vehicle’s trunk, and fired a gun into it while the victim was inside. Deputies then fatally shot Zhengfeng during the confrontation.
Aikebaer died from his injuries, while Jianquan Bo was taken into custody. He now faces charges including murder and kidnapping and is being held without bail as the investigation continues. Detectives are also examining the circumstances surrounding the power outage that occurred before the alleged abduction.
