A woman from Florida has been arrested after authorities say she caused thousands of dollars in damage to short-term rental properties in Pensacola. Investigators claim the 31-year-old targeted multiple Airbnb homes, leaving behind extensive damage and raising concerns among property owners about guest behavior and rental security.
🚔 Allegations of Property Damage Across Multiple Rentals
According to police reports, the woman is accused of deliberately damaging items inside at least two Airbnb properties located in the same area. Officials say the affected items included furniture, appliances, and home décor, all of which reportedly had to be replaced due to contamination and damage.
Authorities estimate the total loss to be more than $3,000, with items such as chairs, rugs, electronics, and kitchen equipment among those impacted.
📹 Videos Allegedly Posted Online for Profit
Investigators revealed that the case came to light after the property owner discovered videos online showing the suspect engaging in the acts inside the rental homes. Police believe the content may have been created and shared for financial gain.
After being alerted, officers launched an inquiry that led to the woman’s arrest. Law enforcement described the situation as highly unusual, noting that the damage appeared intentional and linked to online content creation.
⚖️ Charges Filed and Airbnb Response
The suspect has been charged with felony criminal mischief and was later released on bond following her arrest. Authorities confirmed that both affected properties belong to the same owner, who reported a strong odor and significant damage after the stays.
Airbnb has since taken action by removing the guest from its platform and offering support to the host through its protection program. Officials emphasized that such incidents are rare but highlighted the importance of safeguards for property owners.
