Investigation Underway After Toddler Reported Missing
Police in Enterprise, Alabama have charged 33-year-old Adrienne Reid with false reporting to law enforcement in connection with the disappearance of her 2-year-old daughter, Genesis Nova Reid. Authorities said they began questioning Reid’s account after detecting conflicting details in her original statement to investigators.
Reid made the missing child report in the early hours of February 16, claiming she woke to find her daughter gone and the front door to their residence open. Initial searches of the neighborhood did not uncover any signs of the toddler.
Questions Arise as Search for Child Continues
As detectives continued interviews and gathered information from neighbors, they learned that Genesis had reportedly not been seen for several weeks prior to the report. This raised concerns among law enforcement and prompted a more intensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding her disappearance.
Reid is currently being held without bond while investigators work to corroborate statements and trace the child’s movements before she was reported missing.
Police Seek Public Help and Identify Person of Interest
The Enterprise Police Department is actively seeking assistance from the public. Authorities have identified a person known only as “Moriah” as someone they would like to speak to regarding the case, though she has not been named a suspect at this stage.
Law enforcement agencies involved in the ongoing search include federal and state partners, and the department is urging anyone with information about Genesis’s whereabouts to contact them immediately.
