Fatal Shooting in Englewood Early Wednesday
In the early hours of Wednesday morning, a violent shooting in Chicago’s Englewood area resulted in one man’s death and left three others injured, according to police reports. The incident unfolded just after midnight in the 7000 block of South Halsted Street when two unidentified gunmen approached a group of men standing outside and fired multiple shots.
A male victim was struck in the head and was pronounced dead at the scene. The other three men were hit by gunfire or suffered graze wounds.
Victims Transported to Hospital
One of the wounded, a 27-year-old man, was shot in the leg and taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in stable condition. A 38-year-old man suffered a graze wound to his arm and was also transported to the hospital and listed in good condition. A 33-year-old victim declined medical treatment after receiving minor injuries.
Investigation Underway, No Arrests Yet
Chicago Police Department detectives are actively investigating the shooting. At this time, no suspects have been apprehended, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward. The motive for the attack has not been released.
