A deadly shooting occurred early Monday morning in Chicago’s South Deering area, leaving one man dead. Authorities confirmed the victim was discovered unresponsive with a gunshot wound, prompting an active investigation by local police.

According to police officials, officers responded to a report of a person down around 6:20 a.m. in the 1600 block of East 95th Street. When they arrived at the scene, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to his back. Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the location.

Chicago police secured the area and began gathering evidence from the scene. Detectives canvassed the neighborhood for surveillance footage and potential witnesses who may have seen or heard anything related to the shooting. As of now, no suspect information has been released.
