A food delivery driver in Indiana has been taken into custody and faces serious felony charges after a customer’s doorbell camera captured her seemingly spraying an irritant onto a delivered meal, leading to the recipients falling ill. 📦 Alleged Pepper Spray Attack During Delivery
On December 7 in Vanderburgh County, Indiana, surveillance footage from a doorbell camera allegedly showed a DoorDash driver applying a substance to a food order shortly after placing it at a customer’s door. The footage shows the driver lowering what appears to be a spray canister toward the food bag before walking away.
The couple who received the order from Arby’s reported experiencing burning sensations in their mouths, throats, stomachs and noses, and later vomiting after eating the food. Upon reviewing the video, they alerted local authorities.
👮 Arrest and Charges Filed
Kourtney Stevenson, 29, was arrested in Kentucky and is awaiting extradition to Indiana to face charges related to the delivery incident. She is accused of consumer product tampering and battery resulting in moderate bodily injury, both considered felony offenses under state law.
Stevenson reportedly told investigators that she had intended to spray at a spider, not the food itself — a claim law enforcement has cast doubt on given the chilly December temperatures that would make outdoor spiders inactive.

DoorDash has permanently removed Stevenson from its platform and said it is cooperating with law enforcement during the investigation. The company reiterated that it has zero tolerance for behavior that endangers customer safety.
