Detroit Teacher Suspended After Arrest in Ohio for Soliciting a Minor 60571295

A male teacher employed by the Detroit Public Schools Community District (DPSCD) has been charged with attempting to solicit sexual activity from someone he believed was a minor in Ohio. According to authorities, the educator, who resides in Ohio but worked at Detroit’s Mumford High School, offered cash in exchange for sexual acts and was apprehended by law enforcement at a predetermined meeting location.

Ohio Arrest for Solicitation of Minor

Law enforcement in Ohio say the teacher, identified as 33-year-old Jacob Vincent Suder of Maumee, allegedly offered $60 to what he believed was a juvenile for oral sex in a sting operation. He then traveled to a designated place in Toledo and was taken into custody. He faces charges of paying or agreeing to pay a minor to engage in sexual activity.

School District Response and Investigation

Following the arrest, the DPSCD placed the teacher on administrative leave and barred him from all district property while the case proceeds. School officials announced they are actively investigating to determine whether any additional minors at Mumford High School might have been involved.

Legal Proceedings Underway

Suder posted a $15,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on the next hearing date. Meanwhile, the investigation remains ongoing, and district leaders are coordinating with Ohio authorities to manage the case and protect students.
