Sweden’s Gangs Recruiting Teenage Girls as Assassins and Bomb Makers, Officials Warn

Sweden is facing a disturbing new front in its gang wars

Sweden is facing a disturbing new front in its gang wars as criminal networks turn to teenage girls for violent assignments, according to an investigation by The Telegraph.

Authorities say girls as young as 15 — nicknamed “Green Women” by gang leaders — are being lured through social media with the promise of lucrative payouts in exchange for carrying out assassinations, arson attacks, and bombings.

Prosecutor Lisa dos Santos told the British outlet that criminal groups exploit the fact that female recruits were long overlooked by investigators, creating a “blind spot” in law enforcement.

Bounties of up to £13,000 (around $17,500) are offered for successful hits. Even lower-risk assignments, such as preparing makeshift firebombs described as “napalm,” can earn teenage recruits thousands.

The girls typically never meet the masterminds orchestrating the violence. Instead, they receive instructions from anonymous handlers online, further shielding the leaders from accountability.

Officials say some of the recruits appear motivated not only by money but also by the desire to prove themselves as ruthless — and in some cases, more brutal — than their male counterparts.
