Six teenagers were taken into custody following a rifle shooting that erupted during a house party in the Nyeland Acres neighborhood of Oxnard. Law enforcement responded to a “shots fired” call late on November 25th and quickly tracked down a suspect vehicle — recovering a loaded high-power rifle believed to be used in the incident.
🔫 Incident at Party: Night of Chaos
At around 11:15 P.M. on November 25, 2025, deputies from local patrol units — joined by special enforcement teams — responded to reports of gunfire in the 3600 block of Orange Drive. Upon arrival, investigators confirmed that a juvenile had opened fire at a group of party-goers before fleeing the scene. Thankfully, no one was struck by the gunfire.
Witnesses pointed to a getaway vehicle, prompting police to launch a search. The vehicle was later found in Camarillo, occupied by five minors and one adult.
🚓 Arrests and Charges: Who Was Taken Into Custody
During a search of the vehicle, officers recovered a loaded high-power rifle — believed to be the weapon used in the shooting.
- Adult suspect (18-year-old): Charged as accessory after the fact.
- Four juveniles: Also cited and released to their parents after being charged with accessory.
- One juvenile: Detained at a Juvenile Justice Center, facing multiple charges including assault with a deadly weapon, shooting at an inhabited dwelling, and several firearms offenses.
Detectives obtained several search warrants that tied the adult and one juvenile directly to the shooting, and the investigation remains ongoing.
