Teen Taken Into Custody Following Fatal Shooting in Bryan County

An Oklahoma teenager has been placed in a juvenile detention center in Texas after authorities identified him as the main suspect in the death of a woman found in her home in Bryan County. The 31-year-old victim was discovered unresponsive at a residence in Colbert late last week, with officials determining her injuries were consistent with a homicide. Officials have not released additional details about the events leading up to the incident.

Missing Alert Leads to Capture Across State Line

After investigators declared the boy a person of interest in the woman’s death, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol issued an alert when he could not be located. Law enforcement later determined he had crossed south of the Oklahoma–Texas border. Early the following morning, deputies in Grayson County located and took the teen into custody without incident.

Investigation Ongoing, Community Reacts

Law enforcement agencies, including state investigators, are continuing their work on the case as they prepare evidence for potential charges. Local officials have expressed the profound impact of the tragedy on the victim’s family and the broader community. No other suspects are reported to be at large, and authorities stress the investigation remains active.
