Texas Woman Opens Up About Surviving Ex-Boyfriend’s Deadly Rampage
A Texas mother has spoken publicly about the nightmare she endured after her former boyfriend, who had a history of domestic violence, embarked on a string of killings that spread fear across the Dallas area in late 2020. The woman says she lived with guilt and trauma after realizing she had become the target of the man she once knew.
The case, which ended with the killer receiving life in prison without parole, claimed four victims, including the survivor’s father.
Deadly Attacks Followed After Brief Contact
According to the woman, she contacted her former partner on Halloween night in 2020 after years of abuse and separation. The man, who had recently been released from prison following a domestic violence conviction, allegedly demanded to know her location.
After she refused to reveal where she was staying, he launched a violent spree. Over the following weeks, three men were fatally shot in separate incidents around Dallas. Authorities later connected the crimes through ballistic evidence, phone records, and surveillance footage.
Father Killed in Final Act of Violence
On November 18, 2020, the gunman tracked down the home where the woman had been staying with her father, Blair Carter, 60. He shot and killed Carter before setting the residence on fire.
Police arrested the suspect the following day. In 2023, he admitted to four murders and was sentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole.
Despite the devastating loss, the survivor has rebuilt her life and now works in mental health crisis response. She continues to raise her children while honoring her father’s memory and helping others facing trauma.
