A former kindergarten teacher at a private Christian school in Indiana has pleaded guilty to a felony child seduction charge connected to an inappropriate relationship with a teenage student.
The teacher, identified as 24-year-old Torrie Lemon, received a four-year sentence that includes probation and a short jail term after admitting to the offense in court. Authorities said the case began after school officials discovered evidence of the relationship during a school trip.
Relationship Discovered During School Trip
According to investigators, the relationship came to light in April 2025 while students and staff were on a school trip to South Carolina. A student reportedly found hidden videos and messages on the victim’s phone showing intimate interactions between the teacher and the 17-year-old student.
School staff immediately reported the matter to authorities. Police later launched an investigation, and the teacher was removed from her position at the school.
Court records stated that the teacher admitted to police that the relationship had become inappropriate after initially beginning as a friendship earlier in the year.
Explicit Messages and Gifts Raised Concerns
Investigators also recovered text messages exchanged between the teacher and the student. Some of the messages allegedly included romantic and explicit language.
The victim’s parents reportedly told police they became concerned after noticing the teacher frequently giving gifts, flowers, and spending excessive time with their daughter. Authorities said the relationship eventually became physical at multiple locations, including the teacher’s apartment and the student’s home.
Police documents further revealed that the teacher and student were often in contact by phone and text throughout the day.
Additional Charges Still Pending
The former teacher has already served part of her jail sentence and will remain on probation for several years. Officials confirmed that additional child seduction charges connected to the same investigation are still pending in another Indiana county.
The school involved in the case said it acted quickly after learning about the allegations, placing the teacher on leave before terminating her employment and contacting law enforcement officials.
