Tragic Loss of Promising Woodmore Student
A tight-knit Ohio community is grieving after a 15-year-old honor student was shot and killed inside an apartment in Northwood on Friday night, January 23. The victim, who excelled academically and participated in multiple school and community activities, was pronounced dead at the scene following the shooting.

According to authorities, the Lake Township Police Department responded to reports of a shooting at an apartment late Friday evening. When officers arrived, they found the teenager with a fatal gunshot wound.
Police arrested the 18-year-old suspect at the scene. Officers say the suspect told investigators that he was cleaning the firearm when it accidentally discharged, striking the young girl. He was taken into custody and booked on a reckless homicide charge.
