Minneapolis — A 65-year-old man has been arrested following the fatal shooting of a woman inside an apartment on the city’s west side. Police responded early Wednesday evening and discovered the victim inside the residence, prompting an ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the homicide.


Shooting Discovered in Apartment on West Broadway

Late afternoon on Wednesday, officers from the Minneapolis Police Department responded to a reported shooting in the 2600 block of West Broadway. Around 5:45 p.m., they entered the unit and found a woman who had been shot and was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators say a male acquaintance of the victim is the suspect in the case.

Suspect in Custody, Weapons Recovered

While officials have not yet publicly identified the victim or the arrested man, the suspect is now being held at the Hennepin County Jail. Inside the apartment, police recovered both a firearm and a knife. They have not disclosed when or where exactly the arrest was made.

Investigation Continues, No Identities Released

At this stage, authorities are continuing their investigation, including the motive behind the shooting and the relationship between the two parties. No formal motive has been announced, and the names of the victim and the suspect remain withheld.
