A male nurse aged 41 has been formally charged after Queensland police allege he raped two elderly patients while working at a Brisbane hospital. The two victims, both in their 80s, were allegedly assaulted during their stays at the hospital between January 2020 and December 2024. The shocking breach of trust has prompted calls for anyone with related information to step forward, as the case prepares to enter court.
Breach of Trust: Allegations Against the Nurse
According to investigators, the nurse was employed at the hospital in Brisbane and is accused of committing two separate sexual assaults — one in January 2020 and another in December 2024. The alleged victims were both older women receiving care at the time of the alleged offences. Police executed an arrest at the man’s home in the Riverhills area following a detailed investigation. The nurse is currently in custody and awaits his next court appearance.

Hospital authorities reportedly took action in December 2024 upon becoming aware of the allegations, notifying the police immediately and standing the employee down. Investigators from the Dutton Park Criminal Investigation Branch have asked any other potential victims or people with information to contact Crime Stoppers. Senior officers described the alleged actions as a “reprehensible breach of trust” and emphasised there is zero tolerance for such conduct in health-care settings.
