FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. — A beloved Virginia mom was killed in a shocking stabbing at a bus stop in the Hybla Valley area, prompting swift police action and a murder charge against the alleged attacker. The tragic February evening incident has left family and neighbors devastated as investigators work to piece together what led to the fatal assault.

Fatal Stabbing at Fairfax County Transit Shelter

According to law enforcement, officers responded to reports of a violent incident around 7:16 p.m. on Richmond Highway near Arlington Drive on Feb. 23 and found Stephanie Nicole Minter, 41, suffering from multiple stab wounds inside a bus shelter. Despite immediate life-saving efforts by first responders, Minter was pronounced dead at the scene.

Surveillance footage and witness statements helped police identify a suspect seen with the victim shortly before the attack. Authorities say the two had boarded and exited a public bus together, but there is currently no indication that Minter and the alleged attacker knew each other prior to the incident.

Arrest Made, Murder Charge Filed

Police located Abdul Jalloh, 32, the day after the killing and arrested him on a separate larceny allegation after a member of the public recognized him. Investigators later linked him to Minter’s death and secured a warrant charging him with second-degree murder. He is being held without bond as the case progresses.

Authorities have not yet disclosed a motive behind the stabbing, and detectives continue reviewing evidence as part of the ongoing investigation.

Community Reacts, Loved Ones Remember Victim

Friends and family described Minter as a joyful and loving presence whose loss has sent shockwaves through her community. Her obituary highlights her deep affection for loved ones and the void her passing has created.

As the investigation continues, community members are seeking answers and support for public safety around transit areas. Police urge anyone with additional information to come forward.
