Pennsylvania Authorities Charge Michelle Zajko in Parents’ Deaths
Pennsylvania prosecutors have filed murder charges against Michelle Zajko, a woman associated with the controversial Zizians group, in connection with the fatal shooting of her parents, Richard and Rita Zajko, in Delaware County in 2022. Officials announced that investigators believe the killings were not carried out by a single person and that additional individuals may have been involved.
Zajko, who has been in custody in Maryland since 2025 on separate charges, now faces counts including murder, burglary, and conspiracy.
Investigators Say Evidence Built Over Several Years
According to Delaware County authorities, investigators spent years gathering evidence before bringing charges. Prosecutors said they are convinced Michelle Zajko played a role in the deaths of her parents, even if she was not the person who fired the fatal shots.
Officials stated that forensic evidence, digital records, and other information collected during the investigation helped establish the case. They believe the attack involved multiple people, although no additional suspects have been publicly identified.
The couple, Richard and Rita Zajko, were found dead at their Chester Heights home following the New Year’s Eve killings in 2022.
Family Rift and Alleged Connections to the Zizians Group
Prosecutors said Michelle Zajko had become estranged from her parents before their deaths. Authorities also noted her association with members of the Zizians, a fringe group that has been linked by investigators to several violent incidents across the United States.
The group has drawn national attention because of multiple homicide investigations involving individuals connected to it. Authorities continue to examine possible links between members and other ongoing cases.
Additional Charges and Ongoing Investigation
Zajko remains jailed in Maryland on unrelated criminal charges. Prosecutors emphasized that the Pennsylvania investigation remains active and that authorities are still working to determine who else may have participated in the killings.
Officials said further charges against additional individuals remain possible as the investigation progresses.
